Statistics show that only 40% of women are financially literate which is something that needs to be addressed. Our guest speaker pointed out that we should review our financial plans regularly and assess how we can utilise our resources.

Wheelchair Meets Wilderness

Clare Reilly shared the story of discovering her diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) at the age of 32. It came after months of back pain, visits to a Physiotherapist, Osteopath, Spiritual Healer then a GP referral to a Neurologist.

Sunrise Swimmers

Anne's most recent move of course was to Indented Head. A place close to her heart, with childhood memories of camping down here opposite the Ozone wreck. As our Bellarine does, she's been embraced by the community and also enjoys a daily invigorating swim with the Salty Bitches.

Look Good, Feel Better

Anita Ekberg shared her volunteer work with Look Good Feel Better - a national cancer-support program. The not-for-profit organisation offers free in-person and online workshops and Confidence Kits to help people with any type of cancer manage the most common physical and psychological impacts of treatment.

Neuroendocrine Cancer - Hazel's Story

Our goal for the evening talk at the Bellarine Women's Network was to raise money for Neuroendocrine Cancer Australia and help our President, Hazel Ingram, in her fundraising efforts for research into this rare cancer.

Bellarine Wholefoods

If you haven’t visited Bellarine Wholefoods – this is what you will find at the beautiful store. 500 items in store and online, pretty much anything you would keep in your pantry. 70-80 % of items are Australian grown, free from chemical pesticides and preservatives. They source from 70 different suppliers, 20 of which are local to the area.

Artisans of Australia

Helen Meikle, Founder and Director of the Artisans of Australia gallery, presented an inspiring talk about her remarkable career and her passion project: creating a magnificent space on the Bellarine to celebrate and showcase the work of local artists.

Share The Dignity

Our wonderful speaker was Jessica Patti from the Geelong branch of Share the Dignity - and what an inspiring young woman she is. Jessica works full time, has a young family and still invests her time and energy to volunteer for this amazing organisation.

Bellarine Community Health

Special guest speaker Kai Whyte, Volunteer Coordinator at Bellarine Community Health gave a comprehensive overview of all the services available at BCH. She talked about the history of BCH and present-day activities. Did you know for instance that BCH was the very first community health service in Victoria, and started over 50 years ago? Kai told us about the dental services available at the Point Lonsdale site, which is available for public and private patients.
